ORCHESTRATED charts the unknown story of the first all-Black symphony orchestra.

It follows pianist, BLM activist, and NYU professor Kyle P. Walker on a mission to uncover the lost traces of the audacious project, to connect to the living witnesses, and to understand why this critical chapter of our shared history has vanished.

While examining the racism that continues to haunt classical music today, Walker sets out to bring to life the once impossible dream of the Orchestra: a premiere of its original music at Carnegie Hall with an all-Black ensemble.
